LAUGFS Aqua Systems private Limited a subsidiary of the LAUGFS Supermarkets Limited engaged in water bottling and distribution bottle water under ‘LAUGFS Aqua’ brand laid foundation stone to build ultra-modern automated water bottling plant at Kottawa bordering Padukka yesterday . Accordingly LAUGFS will invest Rs.45 million for the new project which would increase the company’s production capacity to meet the increasing demand.
Chairman LAUGFS Holdings Limited W.K.H. Wegapitiya said that ‘LAUGFS Aqua’ having entered into the bottle water segment ten years ago and having identified the new economic prosperity in the country decided to expand its operations in order to become leader in the bottle water sector in the country.
“This new bottling plant would fulfill our supply demand and we are hoping to commence the operation of the new plant within three months. After commencement of the operations of the plant we would be in a better position to promote our product across the island with new a distribution and retail network.†He said.
