Gas prices to go up amid shortage in Sri

May 08, Colombo: Sri Lanka government has nodded a price hike for Shell and LAUGFS gas companies from 26th May while a shortage prevails in the local market. Shell gas distribution has lessened since the recent Tamil Tiger air raid in Muthurajawela near Colombo which caused some minor damage to the Shell gas terminal.Consumers lament that they cannot find gas cylinders from the market although the Shell gas says the shortage is nominal and the problem will soon be solved..
