Gas price reduced by Rs. 150

With elections to three Provincial Councils around the corner, the government yesterday announced a reduction in the price of Gas by Rs. 150, effective from midnight yesterday and also a reduction of the import duty on a variety of consumer essentials. Government sources said that the Ministry of Finance had intervened to bring down the prices. The price of a 12.5 kg cylinder of LP Gas, both, Laugfs and Litro, will now cost the consumer Rs. 2,246.
