Laugfs adds fuel to Ananda cricket

Ananda College that has produced many outstanding cricketers who have shone on the field, be it in local or the foreign lands, will once again be sponsored by Laugfs Holdings PLC.

They will support the College first eleven cricket team for the 2014/2015 season. This was announced at a media briefing held at the MCA pavilion.

“This will help Ananda cricket to continue with its outstanding contribution towards cricket in Sri Lanka and sponsorship of this nature is required to sustain an improve the game at school level,” said Saliya Senanayake, president of Ananda College Cricket Wing.
Deputy Principal of Ananda College F. Welege thanked Thilak de Silva, Group Managing Director Laugfs Holdings PLC for his contribution as an old boy towards Ananda and Ananda Cricket.

“I am delighted to contribute and to be associated once again with Ananda College and urged all old boys to partner their Alma Mater in their endeavours to improve and develop cricket from grass root level at Ananda College,” said Thilak de Silva, Group Managing Director of Laugfs Holdings.

Ananda’s first eleven team finished third in the League points table and was the top team from the Western Province. Ananda team emerged champions in the Murali Harmony Cup this year.

Their success can be contributed to the active support and participation of the past cricketers through the Ananda College Cricket Wing (ACCW). (KN)
