The session, conducted by Asela Vidanagamage, Senior Manager – HSE, covered safe LPG handling, emergency leak response, and the dangers of firewood-related indoor air pollution. It featured live demos, videos, infographics, and a Q&A session, with small gifts awarded to active participants.
With children and women most affected by indoor pollution, the programme’s goal was to equip students with knowledge they could take home and share. The response was highly positive, with students engaged and teachers noting how informative the session was.
To support hands-on learning, LAUGFS Gas donated a cylinder, burner, and regulator pack to the school’s Home Science Unit. The project will now continue nationwide, reaching one district per month, promoting LPG safety and awareness across Sri Lanka.
